Glory-NASA's eye on sun

It has been a confusing question in the minds of scientists and researchers that whether sun’s light and heat energy change? And whether it varies in such an extent that it has got a capacity to change earth’s climate?

For this NASA sent its first satellite instrument-radiometer. Radiometer has a capacity of measuring the amount of light that strikes the earth’s atmosphere. This light can also be termed as total solar irradiance. It had shown that sun’s light has changed over decades.

Without it, it would have been difficult to discover how much energy the sun emits.Still there lays a question unanswered- whether the irradiance has been changing throughout the 3 11-year cycle? If this question gets an answer then it will help in getting knowledge about climate change. Glory will be launched in November.
